Stop the NOISE, KNOW the TRUTH

Every generation since the beginning of human existence has had noise, inputs from invented sources (not created by the Creator). Phones in our hands, screens in front of our faces, voices filtering through our headphones, is an onslaught of choices we have to face when we wake up in the morning. Do you allow yourself to get swept away by the noise, OR do you reach for something better?

I woke, got a drink, and sat with the Father for some meditation, and then prayer, and then bible study, all in the first hour of my waking. I usually do not get on the computer or anything until after my exercise and chores, but this morning, I wanted to get this out of my head while it was fresh in my thoughts.

You need to know the point of your life before you go forth into it each day. The noise is strangling you with lies; it is not just subtle and in the background, but coming right at us with an intentional message that “IT” is what makes us happy, worthy, and compatible.

When Yahweh, THE TRUTH, is set before our minds clearly, you will counter the noise. Begin with Hebrews 4:12.

Do the things that we are lead to do, and all the other things will become less important or go away completely. You will find that you have more time to do the things, learn things you have wanted to learn, and get rid of fear and anxiety, and feel good at the end of a day knowing you have done what the Father has lead you to do, instead of the list of things you thought you needed to do.

I am here to help. Contact me if you are in a place you need some freedom from the noise. Let’s make that reality.

Spirals

Life can become a whirlwind of spirals. Are you checking in to your thoughts? Are you checking in daily? Checking in on yourself every day, at the beginning and the end, to have a firm accountability of where your mind and spirit are setting. I use a daily “read through the bible” guide, and a devotional book (100 days or 40 days or other); I begin my day with these, and end my day with a Gratitude guided journal that asks questions of affirmations and engaging questions to force me to think of the blessings of the day. I also use the question, “what went well today” at the bedtime, to have some good thoughts going to bed.

You may come up with some other ways to check in with yourself through out the day. Doing it is the key.

Take captive all thoughts means more than just the surface; it means all good and bad. Take in all the good, and throw out all the not so good. I will give an example of a recent chat with myself. I began to complain over a canning project that was taking longer than expected. I stopped, took a minute, gathered my thoughts, asked if they were beneficial to me or the task, and threw them out with a resounding “NO”. I ate a piece of chocolate, and finished the task. I will note that not long after I took captive the thoughts, I was blessed with my father in law bringing me a very large canner that held 3 times what I had in my small canner. And, because I slowed down and noticed my first batch being a bit under filled, I corrected the majority of jars left before they were canned. It just takes a few seconds to change a negative thought to a positive one; the blessings abound with the positive thing, life gets better, and joy comes in.

The thing about spirals is they grow. But, so does joy, peace, patience, kindness, and LOVE.

I will share a 7 day gratitude for you to use.

Day one: what are three things you are grateful for today? why? Say thank you after each one. Create positive affirmations from these things in the list. Name something you are proud of today. Tomorrow you look forward to what?

Day two: who is someone in your life that you are grateful for? why? Create positive affirmations for this person. Reach out to that person and tell them. What are ways you spread kindness today? Tomorrow you look forward to what?

Day three: what is something that happened today that you are grateful for? Why? Create positive affirmations for these things. What are things that inspire you? Tomorrow I look forward to what?

Day four: what is a physical ability or trait that you are grateful for? why? Create positive affirmations about these things. What is today’s biggest accomplishments? (even if small) Tomorrow you look forward to what?

Day five: what is something you own that you are grateful for? why? Create affirmations about these things. What things made you smile today? Tomorrow you look forward to what?

Day six: what is a challenge or obstacle that you have overcome that you are grateful for? why? Create affirmations about these things. What rewarding interactions did you have today? Tomorrow you look forward to what?

Day seven: what is something about yourself that you are grateful for? why? Create affirmations about these things. What lessons did you learn today? Tomorrow I look forward to what?

LOVE YOUR BRAIN.

all the wins

blocks stacked in a stair step spelling WIN on each edge

I would like to share an article that I enjoyed for my week of getting good habits back into my morning routine; I had no more routine in actuality. I needed a jump start and Faithful Workouts, (where the article I am sharing below was authored by Michelle), helped, along with Mindy Pelz fasting schedule for women. Take time to create a list of wins, and make a two to three task list for the day that is attainable, purposeful, and needed. Get to it. Contact me if you need support and help. Jeana ( below from Michelle)

“…celebrating your wins, no matter how small they seem. Somewhere along the way, we have forgotten the importance of celebrating our successes. As soon as we achieve a goal or reach a milestone, rather than taking the time to celebrate, we’re already going after our next goal. In our fast-paced society, it is easy to get caught up in this cycle.

But taking the time to celebrate your successes, both large and small, is an integral part of the goal process that you don’t want to skip. Not only does celebrating success feel good in the moment, but it also sets you up for future success. It’s also so important that we take time to thank God for all that He is doing through you. Isn’t it awesome that He wants us to experience an abundant life and is there to help us with all areas?

Choosing to exercise daily is hard, so celebrate all your successes along the way to keep yourself motivated.

Give yourself some credit when you accomplish a goal. Accountability partners, friends, and small groups are great places to share your successes and get support.

Most importantly, celebrate behavior changes and not just reaching a certain number on the scale. For example, if you met your goal of exercising for 40 minutes, 3 times a week, or eliminated added sugar from your diet for the last week, maybe it’s time to reward yourself by getting a massage or pedicure, or buying a new exercise top.

Something to Think About:

Progress is progress, no matter how small, so be proud of every win!

Take a moment to write down 3 wins that you’ve had. Thank God for His help in achieving these wins. Don’t be concerned about the size of the win, just be grateful for it!

Nutrition Tip:

I follow an 80/20 approach when it comes to the way I eat. 80% of the time, I eat really healthy, and 20% of the time, I eat somewhat healthy. I’ve done this for so many years, and I think the reason I stick with it is that I don’t feel restricted. If I eat something, like French fries, I know it’s in my 20%. I don’t beat myself up and think I’ve failed, but I know it’s not the way I’m going to eat every day.

I hope this makes sense. I know that when I eat this way, I still feel like I am honoring God and caring for His temple. I feel I am properly fueling my body. I have strength and energy. I am excited to eat this way the rest of my life.

ENOUGH AND FINISHED

I was once told a story. I will not re tell the story, but I will make the point the story made. Never assume that someone knows what you know, or has somehow morphed the same everyday knowledge as you have. Always assume that you know what you know and someone else may understand the same knowledge differently. Always know that there are different perspectives, different levels of education, and altogether different education in every community on this planet.

Joe and john are right, but their points of view are different. It’s for that they are disagree.

To some, sometimes E on the fuel gauge means “enough”, and the F on the fuel gauge means “finished”. This is not just a lack of education on the subject, it is a perspective on life itself; the words are a display of how their world is shaped at the moment. Think about how the dismantling process has to play itself out with some. As G.Boyle said in his book Tattoos on the Heart, “some stare into the mirror and pronounce “empty”. Our collective task is to suggest instead “enough”–enough gifts, enough talent, enough goodness. When you have enough, there is plenty. Or, the verdict is “finished”, we are asked to lead them instead to “fullness”–the place within–where they find in themselves exactly what God had in mind.”

I leave you with that to think about.

Remember who you are

1. Remember what has always been and always will be true, “I am unshakably good.” “You are unshakably good.” AND, “You are an Eternal heir” “I am an Eternal heir”. It is just true.

Oh how the world changes when we embody this.

2. The fastest way to change your mind-state, body chemistry and move out of fight or flight (the stress response) is 5 full breaths with the exhale longer than the inhale. This is science people!

❤️ Bonus points if you focus the breath on the heart.
💖 Second bonus if you figure out what that Breath in really is! Hint: Look up.

3. Practice gratitude or appreciation. “All the cool kids are doing it!”

Real gratitude. Something you truly FEEL and can marinate in. AND it leads to forgiveness and peace.

❤️ Bonus points if you get up and offer it to the Father/Creator/Messiish

The brain is in a race for heatlh, your mind, body and soul.

Let’s all get to the point right away. The brain needs help. The brain is in a race for health.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a fun, interactive, non-invasive, and medication-free treatment that helps you increase self-control over certain aspects of your brain function. Because of neuroplasticity—your brain’s ability to change—neurofeedback therapy can help you retrain your brain to reduce mental health symptoms, improve performance, and achieve a more balanced brain.

A very good explanation of Neurofeedback (from Amen clinic resources) is painless and safe for people of all ages and provides numerous benefits for a variety of brain health and mental health concerns. For example, because of its capacity to help people retrain their brain, individuals who have behavioral issues can experience self-control over problematic symptoms, increase their confidence, and learn to understand they can adopt healthier patterns of behaving. For those who struggle with emotional stress and anxiety, neurofeedback can help them self-regulate more effectively and respond more positively to situations that produce distressing emotions. Furthermore, it can help high achievers reach peak performance by optimizing their brain function.

In addition to these applications, there are many other conditions that can be helped by undergoing neurofeedback therapy in a professional setting. As a result, patients have reported better memory, focus, and impulse control, lower anxiety, greater mental clarity, more restful sleep, improved mood, and a host of other benefits after using neurofeedback.

Neurofeedback has been used successfully to improve symptoms in many conditions including, but not limited to:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Addictions
  • Anxiety
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Behavioral disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Chronic pain
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Memory problems
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Pain management
  • PMS
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Schizophrenia
  • Sleep problems
  • Traumatic brain injury/concussions
  • ADD/ADHD: A 2021 review published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine found neurofeedback therapy helped improve impulse control, behavior, and focus in kids with ADHD.
  • Addictions: A study by scientists at UCLA found that neurofeedback improved abstinence rates in people with addictions.
  • Anxiety: The results of a 2021 study on people with generalized anxiety disorder revealed that neurofeedback helped them improve their emotional regulation and significantly lowered anxiety and depressive symptoms.
  • Depression: Recent research published in Psychological Medicine concluded from the self-reports of participants that neurofeedback, as an adjunctive therapy, was effective in lowering depressive symptoms.
  • Memory Issues: A 2021 study that assessed the efficacy of neurofeedback for memory loss associated with mild cognitive impairment saw significant improvements in memory that were sustained for at least one month after treatment.
  • PTSD: According to the results of a research study published in NeuroImage: Clinical, participants who had PTSD underwent 15-20 weeks of neurofeedback, and at the conclusion of treatment, 61% no longer met criteria for the disorder.
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI): A published overview of the use of neurofeedback for people who have suffered a TBI suggests that it may help reduce symptoms related to attention, mood, and mindfulness while improving motivation for treatment.
  • THESE WILL HELP THE BRAIN IN THE RACE FOR HEALTH.

I am a certified licensed biofeedback specialist, with 15 years behind me in practice. Contact me if you would like to find out more, and set up an initial consultation/demo.

back and neck issues connected to your mental health

Yes, you read that correctly. Your back and your neck may be one of the biggest reasons for your mental and emotional health.

Take a look at the spine.

The cervical 1 and 2 are at the skull; if they are shifted, even a little, they can cause pain down into the shoulder, jaw, ear, and so forth. With simple daily stretching, consistent massage therapy, and chiropractic adjustments every now and then, you can manage chronic shoulder and upper back pain, and keep those headaches away. This is a huge key to mental health and well-being.

The middle of the back, your thoracic cavity, houses the organs and tissues in your chest. These organs and tissues play a vital role in many of your body’s systems. Heart, lungs, diaphragm, esophagus, liver, stomach, spinal cord, etc, are all affected when this part of the spine is shifted or compressed. In the “v” of your rib cage is your stomach, and in that same area is the emotional cavity; the phrase “gut feeling” comes from the emotional cavity being in this spot. One thing to try when having digestive issues or emotions are high, is to have your T-5 and other thoracic spine adjusted; I have personally had many clients have complete digestive recovery from a simple rib and thoracic adjustment and massage therapy.

What does all this have to do with mental health? If your physical health is at it best, your mental health follows. Many times, the spine and structure of our bodies is not considered when mental health is being assesses. Brain injuries, trauma, and nutritional deficiencies effect our mental and emotional capacities long term in your lifetime. I have personally experienced great mental healing from physical improvements, more so than with mental therapies. In my personal opinion, feeding your brain correctly, improving your health by moving your body every day, and managing your spinal health, will create a mind-body connection you will love.

Your nutrition and fitness boosts your mood and reduces the potential for depression and anxiety. Your thoughts determine how and what your day will be. Do you see how all of this can fits together? What does a new habit in your daily life look like? I have one suggestion to get you started.

Faithful workouts with Michelle is a great place to begin your journey. She is encouraging, creative, and motivating. She has something for every person, no matter what shape you are in.

If you feel you need more help to stay motivated to heal your mental health, and have a healthier brain, contact me and we, together, will create a journey for you. I used to think brain health was just about memory. Now I know it’s the foundation of mental and physical well-being.

Accountability is key in helping clients become more aware of their goals.

Allow me to introduce you to how I will be your accountability.

Goals need to be aligned with their true self by:

The driving force that life and work meaning. What are you passionate about?

Specific actions that bring the purpose to life. How do your goals and purpose align with your purpose?

Long term aspiration. Big picture.

Principals that reflect behavior, deepest beliefs.  Are these aligned with your goals, purpose, mission and vision?

My personal Goals Assessment is on my wall so I see it every morning when I wake and when I go to bed. The statement I read has the purpose, vision, mission and goal binding the three together.

Excerpts from my book, pt 1

“My life changed so much seven years ago it makes my
head spin. Overnight, 50 percent of my diet and the
foods I loved were no longer something I could enjoy. I am
not alone. My story is one among thousands. Alpha-gal
rocked my world! It was mind-boggling! I have had peri ‐
menopausal food sensitivities, hormone food sensitivities,
and more, but nothing like this obnoxious tick-borne food
allergy. It is the “weed” that the Father used to inspire this
book. “Weed” is the nickname I have given alpha-gal, and
other obnoxious things that get into our bodies and lives.
Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS), or alpha-gal (AG for short), is in
its early research and did not even have a name until
recently. Some people have had it misdiagnosed for twenty
to forty years. I have opinions and research on it linked to
Lyme coinfections dating back long ago. Its roots cannot be
traced easily because it slipped in unperceived, overlooked,
and unrecognized. Like a weed.”

The next few blogs will be excerpts from my only published book. I would like for it to go out to as many as needs it. It is for empowerment and hope.

I had been a complete and total captive of core emotional baggage filled over years and did not even know it had occurred. Primary Food is not on your plate. Health is Heart, Mind, Soul, Body, Balance, together.

Fear causes marked deactivation of cerebellum (back part of brain with most blood flow). Fear increases confusion.
