Massage Your Baby, and Reap the Benefits in Yourself

I have massaged my own children from birth, with techniques and patterns, and have reaped the benefits of it in more ways than I can count.  I love massage and what it can do for people.  Just think about how massage makes you feel when you have a good, solid, specified massage.  I have had total lock ups in my core and QL (lower back), and other areas of my body, that have opened up completely after massage specified for the area of the body in need.  Just think what this will do for your baby or child.

I am here, helping parents to learn to massage and nurture their babies. It is much more than learning strokes. It is a profound way to:

  • Help babies get off to the best start for healthy growth and development
  • Support parents’ sensitivity to their baby (i.e. the parents understanding of their baby’s emotions and cues)
  • Encourage parent-baby interactions and parents’ capacity to support their baby’s regulation
  • Support parents’ adaptation of strokes as their child grows
  • Reduce symptoms of postnatal depression
  • Relieve stress
  • Increase school readiness
  • Help the whole family get off to the best start.

Make an investment in a lifetime of benefits for your child and yourself.   I say yourself because when your baby is healthy and happy, or calmed from symptoms or complications, you are less anxious and able to move through your days with confidence.

Register with me. If you are in a location other than Russellville, AR, contact me to discuss options (even to the extent of live video feed).

ready for real change? want healing for your child?

I just spoke with a friend and a client. She did a hair analysis with me through the best lab (recommended in books) in the nation for this kind of test. She has been learning so much about herself, experimenting with taking things out and adding things in to her food and life and supplements. She just told about how she stopped taking her calcium this week and has felt so much better, and her heart was not hurting at all; she said is had affected her sluggishness during the mid day and other things, that are disappearing! The analysis results showed that she did not need calcium; she needed other things to absorb it (there is more detail in this if anyone wants more examples). I am just on a high for what can be done and how the body will heal anything given a chance. I had a convo with someone last night who has a daughter with tourettes, which is totally curable despite the pharma take on it. It is a disorder in the category of ADD and other things similar. It is a mineral/vitamin/nutrition deficiency/gut disorder. It can be fixed. It can be cured!! Please contact me if you want to change your life or change your child’s life. I am totally excited about having complete and total time to serve and learn. I am learning so much more than I have ever, putting pieces together I never would have put in the same puzzle. The body is AMAZING! THE CREATOR IS AMAZING. We are given the power to heal and be healers. Action friends. NOW BREATHE, just breathe. AND LISTEN. just listen.

let’s get together and feel alright

OK everyone, my blog today is to encourage you to take a moment with yourself.

Yes, now.

Think about who you are.  How do you see yourself in this moment? What would you want to make different in this moment? Have you asked the Father above to help you in this moment? If not, take a few seconds and ask. Yes, it is that simple to request, but the harder part is to stay quiet long enough to listen. When you hear it, write it down.  Now, ponder it. Was it a simple, yes, or was there more to it? Do you need to ask more questions? Write down the answers. Begin the path to renewal within the gut voice talking to you. It is always correct. Your gut, your core, where the voice comes from, and where all the emotions and past junk or past joys are stored (not in the head are they stored, not at all…memories are completely different from emotions from those memories). Think on this little bit I have given you today, and I will have more for you tomorrow.

If any of this has stirred some “I need some health help, or a massage, or just want to get friends together for a class in cooking, bread making, simple herbal basics, natural remedy making, infant massage instruction, survival topics, or something else, just give me a call or message me for a free consultation (unless you are already my client), and we will blaze the trail.

Infant Massage Classes

Please Touch Me
A poem by Phyllis K. Davis

If I am your baby, please touch me. I need your touch in ways you may never know. Don’t just wash and change and feed me; but rock me close, kiss my face, and stroke my body. Your soothing, gentle touch says security and love.

If I am your child, please touch me. Though I may resist, even push you away, persist. Find ways to meet my needs. Your goodnight hug helps sweeten my dreams. Your daytime touching tells me how you really feel.

If I am your teenager, please touch me. Don’t think because I’m almost grown I don’t need to know that you still care. I need your loving arms, I need a tender voice. When the road gets rocky, then the child in me still needs.

If I am your friend, please touch me. Nothing lets me know you care like a warm embrace. A healing touch when I’m depressed assures me I am loved and reassures me that I am not alone. Yours may be the only comforting touch I get.

If I am your sexual partner, please touch me. You may think that your passion is enough, but only your arms hold back my fears. I need your tender reassuring touch to remind me I am loved just because I am me.

If I am your grown-up child, please touch me. Though I may have a family of my own to hold, I still need Mummy’s and Daddy’s arms when I hurt. As a parent, the view is different. I appreciate you more.

If I am your aging parent, please touch me the way I was touched when I was very young. Hold my hands, sit close to me, give me strength, and warm my tired body with your nearness. Although my skin is worn and wrinkled, it loves to be stroked.

Natural Helping Hands is a great place to learn how to touch those you love with confidence. We have classes available for the public. Please visit our website for more information, www.naturalhelpinghands.com

Your Baby’s Brain

Your Baby’s Brain

The wise remain aware

of the spirituality of life.

Every mother has felt

the stillness and the stir

of Eternal Consciousness

in her womb. Remember that.

Bring that mysterious, silent moment

into the clamoring present.

—Vimala McClure

from The Tao of Motherhood

The development of an unborn baby’s brain is fascinating and it helps us understand the amazing benefits of massaging your baby. Knowing how your infant’s brain is handling all of the new things surrounding him enables you to approach him with both knowledge and compassion. Doctors Eileen and Tom Paris contend that part of creating a healthy relationship with our children is owning our feelings and expressing them as our own. They say, “For example, telling a startled newborn, with kindness, ‘I see you were startled when Mommy and Daddy yelled and had a fight. Grownups get angry sometimes, especially when we are tired. You’re okay, we love you,’ mitigates the effect of the fighting.” You may think, ‘How is a newborn going to understand that?.’ They do! Most of our communication is in the tone of our voice, our body language, and our intention. These are communicated very clearly to your baby. Even though it is true that adult fighting stresses children (even in utero), never feeling angry is an unreasonable expectation for either ourselves or our children. We can notice when we feel angry, own those feelings, and try to talk them out, reassuring the little one that everything is okay.

“The most complex information-processing device ever constructed is on its way,” says John Medina, author of Brain Rules for Baby. He goes on to say, “During the attachment process, a baby’s brain intensely monitors the caregiving it receives. It is essentially asking such things as “Am I being touched? Am I being fed? Am I safe?” If the baby’s requirements are being fulfilled, the brain develops one way; if not, genetic instructions trigger it to develop in another way. It may be a bit disconcerting to realize, but infants have their parents’ behaviors in their sights virtually from the moment they come into this world. It is in their evolutionary best interests to do so, of course, which is another way of saying that they can’t help it. Babies have nowhere else to turn.”

In her book, Philosophical Baby, Alison Gopnick says, “In adults, vivid awareness accompanies attention, and attention is linked to brain plasticity (the quality of being easily shaped or molded).  Attention literally allows us to change our minds and brains. If we made the backwards inference that brain plasticity implies attention, which implies vivid awareness, it would seem that babies are more conscious than we are. They are vividly aware all the time.” She concludes that infant awareness is steeped in “a kind of exaltation and a particular kind of happiness.”

Once I saw a video of a baby, probably 5 months old, sitting on a couch with her father on the floor in front of her. He began tearing pieces of paper. She giggled, and then laughed and laughed and laughed, so hard for so long I could hardly believe it. She was the perfect example of this “exaltation and a particular kind of happiness.” Alan Schore, in The Neurobiology of Child Brain Development, says, “The brain does not continue to grow and grow. It organizes, then it disorganizes then it re-organizes. This disorganization of the brain and the massive death of billions of cells and synapses is part of how the brain is growing.” He goes on to say, “Positive affects (meaning happy faces) are key to early development. They’re key to growth, they’re also key to not only positive psychological states but to physical health. Joy has something to do with the quality of life.”

Excessive stress responses also pump him up to be less trusting in general, less able to believe that life is on his side. This wiring of joy and intimacy happens not only in the infant but in the mother as well, a significant but often overlooked factor. “The infant and mother’s psychobiological systems are co-regulating each other,” says Alan Schore in an interview, “Joy is the key to attachment. By joining in the child’s joy in the first years of life, mother and baby are both “interactively co-regulating very high levels of positive emotion.”

I have written an entirely new edition of Infant Massage: a Handbook for Loving Parents, which will be released by Random House in February, 2017. The present chapters have been revised, updated, and expanded. There are five new chapters, including a chapter on your baby’s brain. This new book will introduce the art of infant massage to new generations of parents.

Not about you anymore…..

When your career, or other aspect of life, is helping others, it is not about you anymore. Where is the CENTER, the grounding, the source? WE have to achieve center. When we are thinking centered, we are thinking from the core instead of the head.

Wisdom is just that. Awareness is heart-minded guidance. Our energy needs to be about manifestation of the two. Center. Balance.

Believe. Be present.  The healing power of Jesus may have just simply been presence.

Your body is your business. No one, not doctors or family or friends, knows the body better than you. We have been trained to give our power over... question that! Question and listen to your gut, your intuition.

Physically diagnose with the stress responses in your life.  What was the response to a situation before sickness occurred to make us susceptible to the illness?

Write your own prescription.

Surrender. Desire. Turn it over. Illness and issues can be the turning point to spiritual awakening.

Keep hope alive. You are not alone.
